The Houston Texans met with offensive lineman Jordan Mills earlier in the month, but Mills left without a contract. However, the Texans are still in contact with Mills and may still end up signing him, according to Aaron Wilson of The Houston Chronicle.

Wilson adds that while Mills remains a possibility, no deal is imminent.

Remember: the Texans just signed fellow offensive lineman Matt Kalil to a one-year deal, so you have to wonder if that has mitigated their interest in Mills. That being said, Houston still needs help along its offensive line even with the addition of Kalil.

Mills spent the 2018 campaign with the Buffalo Bills, playing tackle and starting all 16 games.

The 28-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Louisiana Tech, was originally selected by the Chicago Bears in the fifth round (163rd pick overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft.

He immediately started all 16 contests at right tackle for the Bears during his rookie campaign and kept the starting job through his second season. However, going into 2015, Mills was waived, and he was claimed by the Dallas Cowboys that September.

Mills then spent a couple of weeks with the Cowboys before being cut. The Detroit Lions then signed him to their practice squad, and a month later, the Bills gave him a shot.

He ended up impressing in five starts in 2015 and earning a new contract from Buffalo.

Mills then went on to start all 16 games in every season for the Bills from 2016 through this past season.

The Texans won 11 games and captured the AFC South division title in 2018 before losing to the Indianapolis Colts in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs.
