The Indianapolis Colts had the ultimate roller coaster season. It started in the preseason when quarterback Andrew Luck was cleared to start.

It went from high to low in the matter of six weeks when Indy started 1-5. They rattled off nine wins in their last 10 games behind Luck's MVP type play. The Colts picked up a dominating win over the Texans on Wild Card weekend before their season ended in Kansas City. With Luck leading the way, the Colts are a scary team.

The biggest player available this offseason is not a free agent. Antonio Brown and the Pittsburgh Steelers went through an ugly divorce that left them looking for a trade partner. The Colts have not been one of the teams interested in the star receiver.

As previously reported by Clutch Points, the Colts have no interest in acquiring Brown, but they should change their minds.

Here are three reasons the Colts should change course and make a move to acquire Brown.

3. Take Team to Next Level

Brown is a playmaker. There has been no more reliable receiver over the years. He has stacked up six straight seasons of 100+ catches, 1,200+ yards, and eight or more touchdowns. He has led the league in receiving yards twice, and receptions twice in that span.

Brown is the type of player that Pittsburgh would have liked to have had for his entire career. It did not work out that way, and the Colts can benefit.

There are high hopes in Indy heading into next season. After a 9-1 finish, and a Divisional Round appearance, there will be talks of this team making a possible Super Bowl run if all goes right. Brown is the type of presence that could elevate this franchise to that level.

2. Best Receiving Core in the NFL?

With all this Brown talk, let's not forget that there is a proven number one receiver in Indy already. T.Y. Hilton has been a workhorse throughout his career. He has 1,000+ yards in five of the last six seasons, including a league leading 1,448 in 2016. Hilton has shown the ability to be a deep ball threat. He is averaging 16 yards per reception throughout his career.

The Vikings are strong at receiver. The Rams, Giants, and Saints all have top notch skill position guys. But, it would be hard to top a receiving duo of Brown and Hilton. One thing is for sure if they teamed up, Lucas Oil Stadium would not be short of points.

1. Luck-Brown Connection

This is the aspect that should have Colts' fans salivating. It is no secret that the Colts are better when Luck is on the field. He went 11-5 each of his first three seasons.

In 2017, Luck was sidelined, and the Colts struggled, finishing just 4-12. This past season, Luck led Indy back the playoffs. He finished with 4,593 yards, 39 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions. Can you imagine what Luck would do if he had Brown to throw the ball to?

Brown thrived in Pittsburgh with Ben Roethlisberger. He would be coming to a team with a more talented quarterback. Luck is arguably the most skilled quarterback in the league. If not first, he is second behind Aaron Rodgers.

The Colts are building something. Luck is healthy. They already have strong skill position players led by Hilton and Eric Ebron. Adding Brown would solidify an already talented Colts' offense. This is a move that should be considered by all in the Colts' organization.
