The Indianapolis Colts suffered a disappointing loss to the Oakland Raiders at home in Week 4. It is safe to say that perhaps no player is more frustrated with their performance than tight end Eric Ebron.

Ebron struggled to find his footing after dropping the ball multiple times in the first half. According to Zak Keefer of The Athletic, he did not mince words when it came to his performance.

“It should have been,” he replied. “I didn’t do anything. I didn’t contribute. I was s—ty today, and it sucked.”

“When these mistakes happen, they hurt me,” Ebron said.

Although there is no question that Ebron's struggles played a part in the 31-24 loss to Oakland, it is still encouraging to see the veteran holding himself accountable. It is clear that he is motivated as ever to redeem himself as a trusted option in the passing game.

The three drops by Ebron in the first half certainly did not do quarterback Jacoby Brissett or the offense any favors. Fortunately, he did manage to somewhat salvage what would have been a horrendous showing against the Raiders by hauling in a 48-yard touchdown. However, it was his lone catch on five targets.

Ebron is coming off a stellar 2018 campaign that saw him haul in a whopping 13 touchdowns. Although he remains a touchdown threat with Brissett now under center, he has hardly been as involved in the offense as he was last year. He will need to find a way to bounce back as the colts hit the road to take on the high-powered Kansas City chiefs on primetime in week 5.
