The Indianapolis Colts finally have their coaching staff for 2018 in place. Head coach Frank Reich has hired Nick Sirianni to be his offensive coordinator, although Reich will still call the plays on offense for the Colts.

Reich envisions running a versatile offense in Indianapolis that will “change things up” in terms of their personnel, formations, and tempo.

“We will be a multiple, attack, up-tempo offense,’’ he said per Mike Chappell of Fox59.com. “We will be aggressive. We’ll change things up. What I mean by multiple is we’ll use multiple personnel groups and multiple formations.

“We’ll change the tempo. There will be a strong element of the no-huddle offense. We’ll build the players around that kind of scheme.’’

It’s certainly promising for Colts fans to hear that Reich already has a vision in place for changing the team’s offense. The Colts were not good on that side of the ball last season. They finished way down in 30th in the league in scoring and 31st in yards per game.

Of course, that was without star quarterback Andrew Luck for the entire year as he was sidelined with shoulder surgery. Jacoby Brissett took over behind center but did not look particularly impressive in his first full year as a starter.

Reich will obviously hope he can have Luck back and healthy enough to play in his first season in charge to implement that new offense. However, Reich showed during his time in Philadelphia that he is also capable of helping put whichever quarterback he has at his disposal – whether it was Carson Wentz or Nick Foles – in a position to succeed.

So whether it’s Luck, Brissett, or someone else entirely, Reich will look to install a system designed to get the very best out of his QB and the offense as a whole.
