The Indianapolis Colts are doing a lot to solidify their defensive coaching staff this offseason. They recently hired Gus Bradley to replace Matt Eberflus as the Colts' defensive coordinator. Most recently, Indianapolis hired Ron Milus as their secondary coach.
ESPN NFL insider Field Yates tweeted the news Saturday afternoon.
The Colts have officially hired former Raiders DBs coach Ron Milus as their secondary coach, per source. Milus has been coaching defensive backs in the NFL for nearly 30 years. Solid get for Indy’s DBs.

As Yates noted, the new Colts DB coach was most recently the defensive backs coach for the Las Vegas Raiders. He spent the past season there, but was employed in the position with four other NFL franchises in over 20 years of NFL coaching experience.

He then spent 2003 as the DB coach of the Arizona Cardinals. Milus held the title of secondary coach for the New York Giants from 2004 to 2005 and for the St. Louis Rams from 2006 to 2008.
The new Colts coach returned to his roots as a DB coach, this time with the Carolina Panthers. He spent 2009 to 2010 there, until returning to the Broncos for his second stint as DB coach in Denver from 2011 to 2012. Milus spent most of his career as a DB coach with the San Diego/Los Angeles Chargers from 2013 to 2020 before joining the Raiders.
The 58-year-old has plenty of experience as a DB coach throughout the NFL, and should prove to be a valuable addition to the Colts' defensive coaching staff.
