The Indianapolis Colts traded Carson Wentz and a 2022 second-round pick to the Washington Commanders this offseason. In exchange, the Colts received a 2022 second and third-round pick, and a 2023 third-round pick that could become a second if Wentz plays 70 percent of plays next season.
While the Colts got a lot of draft picks, the trade left the team with no starting quarterback. Fortunately, there is still plenty of time in the offseason and the upcoming 2022 NFL Draft. Indianapolis star Jonathan Taylor expressed his opinion on the trade and how it affected the team.
AP NFL writer Rob Maaddi tweeted the running back's quote Friday afternoon.

Taylor said that he is “definitely sad to see Carson go.” He noted admirable traits the quarterback possesses, stating that he was “amazing in the locker room and on the field.”
Although he is going to miss having Wentz around Indianapolis, Taylor isn't worried about the future of the Colts' offense.
“I'm not sure what direction we'll go but Chris Ballard, we fully trust in,” Taylor said. “He makes moves methodically and I'm sure he'll make the right decision for the team.”
The Colts have a few options with multiple early picks in the 2022 NFL Draft, including a second and third-round pick acquired from the quarterback trade. There is also a possibility that Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield could be the newest face of the Colts franchise. Mayfield recently expressed interest in the team.
