The Jacksonville Jaguars decided Monday that they were parting ways with offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett.

According to NFL.com, the Jaguars are at the end of the pack in nearly every category. The Jags are 28th in points per game (17.9), 22nd in yards per game (346.5), and 22nd overall in passing yards per game (232.3). Jacksonville also has only 21 touchdowns throughout 11 games so far.

Hackett may have received a rough break considering star running back Leonard Fournette has missed a majority of the season and Blake Bortles has been absolutely dreadful under center for a majority of the season.

Bortles has thrown for 13 touchdowns, 2,572 yard, and 10 interceptions while possessing an 81.9 passer rating and considering Bortles has started every game to this point, that's very underwhelming. The problem may not have been with Hackett after all, but it's always the easiest solution to point fingers at the coaches rather than the players responsible for poor play.

Although Hackett was with the team last season, the Jaguars were an incredibly successful team in which they reached the AFC Championship game against the New England Patriots. A lot of the success was due to the success of Jacksonville's top-ranked defense, but the offense under Hackett was efficient as well for much of the season.

Hackett will look to move on and get a job elsewhere, but for now, the blame for the stagnant Jags offense falls in the hands of their now former offensive coordinator. The moral of the story remains that the Jaguars need a major fix on the offensive side of the ball.
