Kansas City Chiefs center Daniel Kilgore was left with half of a haircut after the team barber was pulled out of the facility after testing positive for COVID-19, according to Peter Botte of New York Post.

Kilgore and wide receiver Demarcus Robinson were placed on the COVID-19 list on Monday. Fortunately, neither of them has tested positive for the virus so far and will be eligible to play on Super Bowl Sunday if they continue to test negative.

The Chiefs center is in high spirits, as he tweeted a picture of himself with half of his head shaved off:

It is a good thing that the Chiefs acted fast, as they prevented what could have been a disaster. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, 20 players and staff were scheduled to receive a haircut from the barber who tested positive for COVID-19, including their star quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Had they not acted immediately, Mahomes and many others could have joined Kilgore and Robinson on the COVID-19 reserve list, having to anxiously wait for whether they would be eligible to play in the championship game.

Going against six-time champion Tom Brady and a dangerous Tampa Bay Buccaneers team without Mahomes would definitely have been a demoralizing circumstance for Andy Reid and the Chiefs. With Kilgore and Robinson taking the necessary precautions in order to rejoin the team in time for the Super Bowl, the Kansas City will be looking to compete for a back-to-back championship this Sunday.

However, it's safe to say Kilgore's hair won't grow back in time.
