LeSean McCoy has been a member of the Kansas City Chiefs for less than two weeks. If how the six-time Pro Bowler acquitted himself in the season-opener is an indication of things to come, though, his presence will make the league's most explosive offense even that much more dangerous.
After rushing 10 times for 81 yards in the Chiefs' 40-26 beatdown of the Jacksonville Jaguars at TIAA Bank Field, McCoy, who was released from the Buffalo Bills in part due to his discomfort with a timeshare in the backfield, stressed that he wants to “earn” his place within his new team's offense.

I want to earn it. These guys are established. It’s been a great offense before I got here, and if I wasn’t even here, it would still be a great offense. I just want to be part of it, earn every play I get and every possession.”
The most successful stretch of McCoy's career came under Andy Reid with the Philadelphia Eagles. Now back with his favorite coach, he considered it a treat to watch Kansas City's offense dominate the competition “firsthand.”
“How much space they had, how many opportunities they had, the gains they were getting each play,” McCoy said. “At one point in the game, we were averaging like 15 yards [per] touch. That’s not normal. To see it firsthand is pretty cool.”
McCoy and the Chiefs play at the division-rival Oakland Raiders on Sunday.
