There were a lot of positives to take from the Kansas City Chiefs' 34-28 overtime win over the Los Angeles Chargers Thursday. However, not everything went smoothly for Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, specifically on one play in the red zone. Mahomes spoke about the play in question and had a brutally honest reaction on the missed touchdown pass to Mecole Hardman.
Patrick Mahomes on his miss to Mecole Hardman: "It was just a really shitty throw."

The play occurred in the third quarter, with Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs looking to punch in a goal-line score on a 4th & 1. Mahomes had Mecole Hardman wide open in the end zone but didn't have a good grip on the ball and ended up throwing it in the dirt well short of his wideout.
Mahomes is clearly disappointed in himself for the mistake, which is a great quality to have in a quarterback, particularly one who just played a flawless end to the game to lead the Chiefs to an overtime win.
The Kansas City signal-caller fired three touchdown passes but is still thinking about the missed throw to Hardman- and probably his third-quarter interception as well.
That sort of mentality and attention to detail is going to serve Mahomes and the Chiefs well moving forward. With the Chiefs defense firing on all cylinders and Patrick Mahomes making sure the offense is staying accountable, Kansas City is going to be a tough out for the rest of the NFL.
