In a postgame rant, The Ringer’s Bill Simmons commented on Kansas Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce’s performance in Week 2’s 20-17 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, as well as his upcoming wedding to his fiancée, Taylor Swift. Amidst the couple’s engagement, Kelce and Swift’s wedding will reportedly be private as a means to avoid a spectacle. However, that report didn’t prevent Simmons from calling it one of the biggest weddings in over 30 years.

Simmons talked about a critical drop Kelce made in the Chiefs’ Week 2 loss in their Super Bowl rematch against the Eagles before addressing the tight end’s upcoming wedding via his Bill Simmons channel on YouTube.

“Travis Kelce, I’m good. He seems like a nice guy. I know people who are friends with him. No shots fired. I’m just good,” Simmons said. “I’m good. The suit with the shorts today. He has the big drop, and he makes two plays, and he’s doing like the WWE flexing. And then, of course, the ball bounces off his hands for the interception for the biggest play of the game. He’s one of the best tight ends I’ve ever seen. He’s not the best.

“His wedding will be the biggest wedding we’ve had since Princess Di. I’m happy for them. I’m a big believer in true love. I’m just good. I need a break,” Simmons concluded.

Following his critique of the Week 2 loss, Simmons' comments on Kelce and Taylor Swift's wedding come off as sarcastic and insincere. Chiefs' Travis Kelce rushed for 61 yards on four carries in Sunday's loss as the Chiefs fell to 0-2 on the 2025 NFL season. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes went 16 of 29 for 187 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Kelce was his best target throughout the game.

However, after Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts ran in for a touchdown from the one-yard line to give the Eagles a 20-10 lead midway through the 7:48 mark in the fourth quarter, Kansas City never recovered.
