Kansas City Chiefs fans didn't know it yet then, but their loss against Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Championship Game was the last time their killer combo of tight end Travis Kelce and wide receiver Tyreek Hill would take the field together as teammates.

In the portion where he thanked his Chiefs teammates, Travis Kelce was one of four players Hill mentioned by name, alongside quarterback Patrick Mahomes and fellow wide receivers Demarcus Robinson and Gehrig Dieter:

“Thank you to Pat, Kelce, Demarcus, and Dieter along with all my teammates,” said the former Chiefs WR. “I'm proud to have taken the field with each of you. You are what made each day worth it. We are brothers for life!

The Chiefs TE echoed the final sentiments of Tyreek Hill's message, sealing that their bond will remain intact even after they part ways in Kansas City:

“Brothers for life!!” said Travis Kelce in response to Hill's farewell message to the Chiefs and their fans.

The Chiefs duo of Kelce and Hill wreaked havoc on opposing defenses for the entirety of the six years they were together. Both stars made the Pro Bowl in all six of those seasons and both were selected to All-Pro teams for the 2016, 2018, and 2020 NFL seasons.

Kansas City will have massive shoes to fill with the departure of Tyreek Hill. They've already added one-time Pro Bowler JuJu Smith-Schuster into the mix and have reportedly brought in Green Bay Packers free agent wideout Marquez Valdes-Scantling in for a sitdown as they search for a suitable replacement for Cheetah:

But it's going to be hard to imagine anyone forming the same formidable offensive triumvirate with Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce the way Tyreek Hill did.
