The Kansas City Chiefs are coming off an impressive 2022 NFL season. Well, anytime you win the Super Bowl, of course, that's impressive, right? With a talented roster and a top-tier quarterback in Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs are poised to make another deep playoff run in the upcoming 2023 NFL season. However, will they win it all again? Here are four bold predictions for the Chiefs in the 2023 NFL season.
Kansas City Chiefs' Performance in the 2022 NFL Season
The Chiefs had a dominant 2022 NFL season, finishing with a 14-3 record and winning the Super Bowl. Led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs had the best offense in the league. They averaged 29.2 points per game. Mahomes threw for over 5,200 yards and 41 touchdowns, while tight end Travis Kelce had over 1,300 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns. They did even better in the playoffs, where they beat the Jacksonville Jaguars, Cincinnati Bengals and Philadelphia Eagles. With most of their key players returning, the Chiefs are in a great position to possibly repeat as Super Bowl champions.
As we approach the 2023 season, the Chiefs will become the prime target for their opponents. Defensive teams will put their best efforts into strategizing against Mahomes and the offense. This mirrors what has happened in previous years, with the main objective being to hinder the Chiefs' progress.

Ahead of the 2023 NFL Regular Season, it’s time to make some of our bold predictions for Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.
4. Travis Kelce's Touchdowns
Travis Kelce is a superstar on the team. Many people think he's the best tight end in the NFL right now. They're not wrong. Some even believe he might be the best ever when he's done playing. They might not be wrong there, too. For 2023, we see something crazy happening. We believe Kelce will score the most touchdowns in the whole NFL. We think he could catch the ball for 17 touchdowns. That might sound crazy, but Kelce is really good. Mahomes loves throwing to him, and other teams find it really hard to defend against him. That's a crazy perfect combo right there. If Kelce does this, it would be his best year for touchdowns.

3. Skyy Moore's Receiving Yards
Skyy Moore is a young player on the Chiefs. He was a rookie wide receiver in 2022, and he showed he's good at catching the ball and running after the catch. He finished the season with just 250 yards on 22 catches. Still, we feel he is due to break out in a big way in 2023. Moore didn't always understand Mahomes' moves, but this year might be different. Some players left the team, too. This means Moore has a chance to shine. We have him possibly catching the ball for more than 900 yards this year. Yes, that means he'll be second to Kelce and ahead of other wideouts like Kadarius Toney and Marquez Valdes-Scantling. That would be a big step for him and make him a top playmaker on the team.
2. Chiefs will not Win the Division
The Chiefs are really good. They are elite. However, sometimes things don't go as planned. We believe there's a strong chance things won't completely go the Chiefs' way in 2023. Even though they're usually expected to win, this year might be different. There are other strong teams in their division. If the Chiefs don't play perfectly or if the other teams improve a lot, the Chiefs will not win their division. This might sound strange, but it's possible. That is especially true with the Los Angeles Chargers on the rise and the Denver Broncos looking to bounce back big time.
1. Mahomes Wins Another MVP
Patrick Mahomes holds the title of the Chiefs' superstar, and that's unquestionable. He's not only a star for his team but is also the face of the NFL. His exceptional skills might even secure him his third Most Valuable Player award. That's a feat that would surprise no one. Renowned for his remarkable quarterback abilities, he's poised for a spectacular season. Mahomes could guide the Chiefs to the Super Bowl once more. Sure, we're not asserting that they will necessarily secure another championship. Still, having Mahomes as their quarterback always keeps that possibility alive.
Looking Ahead
The Kansas City Chiefs are one of the most talented teams in the NFL. They are poised to make another deep playoff run in the 2023 NFL season. With a dominant offense led by Patrick Mahomes and a defense that is improving, the Chiefs are always legitimate Super Bowl contenders. That said, repeating as Super Bowl champs is so tough. We don't think it'll happen for the Chiefs in 2023.
