After a tough defeat the Sunday before to the Buccaneers, the Chiefs asserted themselves as a strong AFC contender by beating the rival Broncos on the road. A huge reason they came out on top was the play of rookie receiver Tyreek Hill.

Hill made NFL history Sunday night, completing a touchdown hat trick by reaching the end zone rushing, receiving, and on a return. That hadn't happened in 51 years.

The last player to achieve the incredible feat was Hall of Famer Gale Sayers, who did so in 1965. Sayers was also a rookie at the time.

Hill's versatility is becoming a huge weapon for Kansas City. He began his touchdown trifecta with a 86-yard free-kick return following a safety:

The second came on a three-yard run where Hill was able to speed around the edge, thanks in part to a huge block by Albert Wilson:

Finally, with the game on the line, Hill momentarily bobbled a Alex Smith pass, allowing him to gain possession after passing the goal line:

The ensuing two-point conversion forced overtime, and Kansas City was able to gut out a huge 30-27 victory. At 8-3 with remaining home games against the Raiders and Broncos, the Chiefs control their destiny with a bye very much in reach.
