Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver DeSean Jackson said that he'd like his next move to be his best move by playing for the Los Angeles Rams.

To be fair, one really can't blame Jackson for wanting to play under Rams head coach Sean McVay. In his tenure with the team, he's turned it around from having a 4-12 record to heading to the Super Bowl. And he's sharing a sentiment felt by other free agents in the league, too, like Andrew Whitworth and Ndamukong Suh.

But Jackson had — let's just say — an interesting way of putting things.

“Worst-case scenario, if anything, I would like to kind of end up in L.A., being a Ram. Sean McVay, you know we got some connections from when I was in D.C. But we’ll see how it plays out. Right now, got another year in Tampa, so we’ll see how it plays out.”

Jackson has played under Sean McVay before. From 2014 to 2016, McVay was the offensive coordinator with the Redskins, where Jackson was also playing. In those three seasons, Jackson had 142 catches for 2,702 yards and 14 touchdowns.

That said, it's highly unlikely that Jackson will be able to get traded to the Rams anytime soon, simply because the team would have to pay top dollar for a veteran like him.

And, at 32 years old, Jackson is in the twilight of his career, and probably will be thinking about retiring next. Jackson had a chance to join the Rams in 2017 when he was a free agent, instead opting to sign with the Buccaneers instead of following McVay to Los Angeles.
