The Los Angeles Rams are set to take on their biggest challenge of the 2018 season on Thursday night with a matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. Unfortunately, the Rams' secondary is battered with injuries, and Pro Bowl cornerback Marcus Peters is expected to be out of the lineup due to a calf injury, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Peters suffered the injury and needed to be helped off the field during last Sunday's 35-23 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. There had initially been concern about a significant injury due to his inability to put weight on his leg at all.

However, this uneasiness was largely dissipated after it was revealed that he was dealing with just a calf strain. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported a potential timetable of two-to-four weeks, but Rams head coach Sean McVay deemed Peters day-to-day with the injury. Still, it looks like Peters won't be able to suit up Thursday.

The Rams are also dealing with the loss of fellow Pro Bowl cornerback Aqib Talib to a high ankle sprain that required surgery and a spot on injured reserve. This will keep him off the field for the next two months and will further test the team's depth at cornerback. Sam Shields and Nickell Robey-Coleman will be in prominent positions as the starters for at least Thursday's game against the Vikings.

Los Angeles has boasted one of the league's best defenses through the first three weeks, anchored by their pass defense ranking sixth in the league while holding the fifth-lowest opposing quarterback passer rating (73.3) and fifth-lowest yards per pass attempt (6.4).

As it stands, Los Angeles is a 7.5-point favorite at home against Minnesota, according to BetOnline.ag. To place a bet on the game or any others, click here and use promo code CLUTCH50 for a 50% Welcome Bonus when you signup with BetOnline.ag!
