The Los Angeles Rams made a huge splash on Thursday afternoon when they were able to come to terms with superstar wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. on a contract for the rest of the 2021 NFL season. Many players chimed in and welcomed Beckham to the team, with star running back Cam Akers even saying he might come back later this year from an injury that he seemed destined to miss the whole season with.
The best comment, however, possibly came from Rams starting quarterback Matthew Stafford, who had an instant reaction to the news via Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic.
“Nothing really surprises me anymore, to tell you the truth.” Rams QB Matthew Stafford speaking glowingly of team adding Beckham, cited some of the reps they got together in a previous Pro Bowl as well as getting on the phone with him this AM.

The Rams are no stranger to splash moves, in fact, they have been the most “Splashiest” team in the NFL for the past decade. It all started with Rams general manager Les Snead flipping the second overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft (basically the rights to draft Robert Griffin III) for a multitude of picks that eventually spurred the beginning of the Sean McVay era.
Snead has NEVER been afraid of making big moves ever since.
For insight on the Rams' Week 10 matchup against the 49ers, listen below:
From the decision to move up in the 2016 draft and select Jared Goff to the trade of a first-round pick for Sammy Watkins to the trading of multiple first-round picks for Jalen Ramsey AND Matthew Stafford, “Trader Les” is always on the phones. That has been no different this season, as Snead has now brought in both Von Miller (via trade) and Beckham Jr. (free agency) while dealing away fan-favorite Kenny Young.
He knows the direction that he wants this team to go in, and he constantly shapes his team into a mold that will fit in that path. It's almost like he is playing Chess while the other general managers are playing Checkers.
