The Miami Dolphins won their seventh straight game over the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football. Under the leadership of head coach Brian Flores, Miami has gone from an afterthought to playoff contender during their seven-game winning streak, though there weren't always those who believed in the organization's ability to make such a turnaround. Flores spoke about the team's doubters and put them on blast following the Monday night win over the Saints.
“I think this team has stuck together through this entire year,” Dolphins head coach Brian Flores said late Monday evening. “Obviously, we dealt with a lot of adversity early in the year. It revealed a lot. I would say it revealed the character of our guys in our locker room.
“It revealed that some people were with you and some people were on the fence,” he added. “Our guys keep fighting, keep sticking together. They support each other, they work hard, they give great effort. When you do those things, you put yourselves in position to get the results you’re looking for.”
This is interesting from Dolphins head coach Brian Flores after the win over the Saints. As Flores alludes to, the Dolphins faced a lot of adversity in the beginning of the year when the team started 1-7.
The former New England Patriots defensive coordinator is commending the character of the Dolphins' players, who he says stuck together and showed what kind of character they have in picking themselves up off the mat.
And, according to Flores, it showed who was “on the fence” about the Dolphins. It sure sounds like the Miami head coach is insinuating that some of those doubters were close to the organization, which is an interesting quote.
There were rumors coming out of Miami suggesting that the team was looking to upgrade from quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, though here they are, winners of seven straight with the Alabama product leading the way.
Whether inside or outside the building, Brian Flores and the Dolphins have quieted even more doubters after their win over the Saints.
