The Miami Dolphins have been no stranger to making moves in the 2019 NFL season. It appears running back Kenyan Drake could be the next one on the move.

There has been plenty of speculation regarding Drake's future in Miami beyond this season. According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, the Dolphins are looking to move him ahead of the trade deadline.

Sources: The Dolphins have had trade conversations with teams centered around RB Kenyan Drake, and the team has indicated they would trade him if the right offer presented itself. Drake, who has had no extension talks with Miami since camp, would welcome a new opportunity.

Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports that the team did attempt to negotiate an extension before it ultimately fell through.

For the record, the Dolphins say they spoke to Drake camp about extension. Talks went nowhere. He's now available for a draft pick, per source who has spoken to the team's front office.

Miami has not been shy about parting ways with the most integral members of their offense in an effort to shore up some draft picks for their current rebuild. The prospect of them spending big money to keep Drake around always seemed a bit far-fetched given the recent changes to the roster and his underwhelming tenure thus far.

Drake has long been on the cusp of emerging as the workhorse in the Dolphins' backfield. He is off to another slow start in the 2019 campaign, however, it appears they are hoping to cash in while he still has some value on the market.

Although the 25-year-old has struggled to find his footing in the NFL, perhaps a change-of-scenery could be just what needs to potentially revitalize his career.
