Heading into his first campaign with the Minnesota Vikings, Pro Bowl quarterback Kirk Cousins laid some high expectations laid before himself joining one of the league's most talented teams.

Through the first nine weeks, it has been an experience that has far exceeded the expectations that Cousins initially had upon joining Minnesota, according to Courtney Cronin of ESPN.

“I think in a lot of ways, this experience has exceeded my expectations,” Cousins said. “When you look at it glass half full, I'm thrilled about our locker room, the chemistry we have on this team, the quality of teammates, the quality of leadership we have in this organization.

“Certainly would have loved to be better than 5-3-1, but I'm grateful we're not 3-5-1. You can look at it both ways. The point is, we keep saying everything is in front of us. We can talk about the past or where we are. But at the end of the day, when you have meaningful games to be played in November and December, let's look forward and focus on that.”

Although the Vikings have had their struggles running the ball, the Vikings have taken off offensively behind their potent passing game with Cousins currently ranking third in the league with 2,685 passing yards along with being third with a 71.4 percent completion rate, eighth with 17 touchdown passes, and ninth with a 102.2 passer rating.

This has been led by their dynamic wide receiver duo of Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs putting together career-best campaigns. Thielen has been the primary target in the passing game with league-best marks with 78 catches and 947 receiving yards along with being second with seven receiving touchdowns. All of this has lent well to the Vikings making another strong push to the playoffs that could see them be in the picture to contend for the Super Bowl.

All of this may ultimately fall on his shoulders to prove that he is the missing piece to the franchise getting over the top in the postseason.
