The Minnesota Vikings will be bringing back Brett Jones for 2019, as they have signed the offensive lineman to a one-year deal that is worth up to $1.5 million with incentives, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

The Vikings originally acquired Jones last August, when they traded a seventh-round draft pick to the New York Giants in exchange for his services.

He went on to play 14 games for Minnesota this past season, making three starts at center.

The 27-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Regina in Canada and was actually drafted by the Calgary Stampeders in the second round of the CFL Draft back in 2013.

Jones was very impressive during his rookie campaign and ended up winning the CFL's Most Outstanding Rookie Award for his efforts. Then, the following year, Jones was even better and was named the CFL's Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman.

As a result of his CFL success, Jones began garnering some interest in the NFL, and in February 2015, he signed with the Giants.

He ended up missing the entire 2015 campaign due to injury, but the following season, Jones played in 14 games and made one start. Then, in 2017, he appeared in all 16 contests and made 13 starts for New York at center and left guard.

New York then dealt Jones to Minnesota last summer.

The Vikings are coming off of a disappointing 2018 season in which they went 8-7-1 and missed the playoffs, one year after winning 13 games and making it all the way to the NFC Championship Game before falling to the Philadelphia Eagles.
