The Minnesota Vikings secured a convincing 37-17 win over the New York Jets in Week 7. However, quarterback Kirk Cousins still feels there are some things they need to clean up.
The Vikings offense got off to a slow start versus the Jets. According to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk, Cousins attributed their scoring output to the defense and special teams:

There were certainly a lot of places that weren’t good enough. When you have special teams giving you good field position and you have a defense giving you the ball back, it probably makes it look better than it really was. That’s complimentary football. That’s team football and we’re so grateful for our defense and special teams with the way they played today because it gave us the opportunities to go back out there and score points.”
There is certainly plenty of truth to Cousins' comments. The Vikings mustered up just 10 points in the first half. Fortunately, they still had a three-point lead thanks to their defense and special teams. However, they finally managed to find their footing in the second half.
Cousins completed 25-of-40 for 241 yards and two touchdowns. This could be attributed to the cold conditions in New York. Although it was not his most efficient outing, his rapport with wide receivers Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs is getting better with each game. However, it is clear that there is still room for improvement.
The Vikings face a much stiffer test next week in the New Orleans Saints. Cousins will have a chance to make a statement in a primetime showdown between these two high-powered, indoor offenses.
