The New England Patriots found themselves the subject of a pretty serious allegation during the 2019 season. That would be the fact that a member of their video crew was taping the sideline of the Cincinnati Bengals during a game.
This is, of course, illegal.
Since then, there has been an investigation surrounding the incident. It looks like things are progressing well. We might even get some information soon.
According to Michael David Smith of ProFootballTalk.com, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell believes things are moving along.
At the same time though, it looks like Goodell wants to make sure everything is looked at and the Patriots is as extensive as possible.

In light of the Houston Astros situation with the MLB, this is the right move for Goodell and the NFL.
Make sure the sports world sees you are taking the situation seriously and looking into every angle of the incident. They are moving along in the process, but it's taking time because they don't want to gloss over anything.
While it may seem like not much of a big deal to some fans, others are taking the situation very seriously. Besides, if the Patriots have nothing to hide, then the extra attention paid to the situation should not matter.
Roger Goodell and the NFL have a chance to clear the air. Whether they come to a conclusion that the Patriots don't deserve a punishment and didn't really do anything wrong, or that they were in violation of something and deserve any type of punishment, at least they will have been thorough in the investigation.
That should give fans comfort in whatever the decision is.
