The New England Patriots are coming off their fifth Super Bowl title in franchise history with star quarterback Tom Brady once again leading the charge.
This has foreseeably led to the Patriots being pegged as the favorites to capture another title on the NFL's grandest stage. Even with that being the case, Brady recently voiced to Mike Reiss of ESPN that he doesn't want to compare this current team to that of years past.
“It is really unfair to set expectations. To me, in my mind, it's really a setup,” Brady said. “You're talking about some magical years that we've had that may never be duplicated again.”
New England have become one of the norm nearly every year to reach the Super Bowl especially as long as Brady is under center. He has brought a high level of success to the franchise during his tenure with the team helping them reach 10 AFC Championship games, which is more than just four other teams in the NFL.
Article Continues BelowThe fact that the Patriots are bringing back what's looks to be an even more formidable team with additional weapons to the passing game with wideout Brandin Cooks and tight end Dwayne Allen that only creates a greater sense that they could be headed another Super Bowl run.
On top of that, Brady is still playing at an elite level after putting up an MVP-worthy 2016 campaign where he threw for 3,554 yards with 28 touchdowns, two interceptions, and a 112.2 quarterback rating despite missing the first four games due to a suspension.
Until he shows that Father Time has caught up with him, the Patriots are going to remain among the top teams favored to win a Super Bowl.
