The New England Patriots desperately need talent out wide next season and it would make a lot of sense for the team to go after Dez Bryant. Bryant expressed interest on Twitter in wanting to play for the Dallas Cowboys, New Orleans Saints, Baltimore Ravens, Kansas City Chiefs—or the Patriots.

Bryant last was in the league in 2018 with the New Orleans Saints but tore his Achillies shortly after joining the NFC South club. The big question has to be how his explosiveness is after tearing the Achilles, but he is 31 years old, so he should still have some gas in the tank. Even if he doesn't have a lot left, the Patriots don't risk much by bringing him and see how he could help the team.

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady hasn't been playing as well this year, and a big reason is because of the weapons in the receiving corps. Julian Edelman is still a sold wideout but after him, the Patriots don't have much. Running back James White is the team's second-leading receiver with 612 yards. The second leading actual receiver is Jakobi Meyers who has only 359 yards. That figure ranks him 121st in the NFL in yards this season. If Meyers was on the New York Jets, one of the worst offenses in football, he would have the fifth-most receiving yards.

One of the other big issues for the Patriots offense this season has been in the red zone. Without Rob Gronkowski, Tom Brady hasn't had someone who he can just throw it up to and trust they will come down with the ball. That is someone the team needs to find this offseason and it would make a lot of sense for the Patriots to go the low-risk way by signing Bryant.

Bryant made clear in his tweet that he wants to be a red zone target for his next team, so even if he doesn't play except when the team gets inside the 20's it would still be a valuable asset. It would also make a lot of sense for Bryant to want to play with the Patriots. He will probably be getting passes thrown from Brady and if he has a big enough season maybe he could get another contract with the Patriots or a different team. He needs a team that will use him right and Bill Belichick would be the perfect guy to trust with that job.
