New Orleans Saints fans can breathe easy, as superstar running back Alvin Kamara will play in Week 9 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers despite dealing with a foot injury.

Kamara told Saints reporters on Wednesday that he will be back at practice on Thursday after missing Wednesday's practice.

“You ever stub your toe on the corner of a bedpost or something? That's kind of what I'm dealing with,” Kamara said, via Luke Johnson of NOLA.com.

“That's tough. It's like, it sucks. That s— hurts. I'm fine. … It's more maintenance than anything.”

The Saints-Buccaneers game is going to be a good one on Sunday Night Football. Both teams are playing really great football right now.

While all eyes are going to be on the quarterback matchup between Hall of Famers Drew Brees and Tom Brady, the Saints need Alvin Kamara to go off and do his usual damage if the team wants to improve to 2-0 against the Buccaneers.

Kamara has recorded 987 yards from scrimmage for the Saints this season. That's nearly 150 more than any other player. He's carried the ball 87 times for 431 yards and four touchdowns. The do-it-all tailback also has 55 receptions for 556 yards and three scores.

The Saints are 5-2 on the season after defeating the Chicago Bears in overtime in Week 8 at Soldier Field. They are in second place in the NFC South standings.

The Buccaneers, led by Brady and star wideout Mike Evans, are atop the division with a mark of 6-2. They defeated the lowly New York Giants in Week 8 on Monday Night Football.
