New Orleans Saints star quarterback Drew Brees is off to a blazing start to a 2018 season that has seen him put up tremendous numbers through the first three games.

Among those has been his gaudy completion rate that is sitting at a league-best 80.6 percent, the best mark by far. With that in mind, Brees has voiced that he believes he can keep up that level of efficiency throwing the ball throughout the rest of the season, according to Josh Katzenstein of NOLA.com.

“I don't see why not,” Brees said. “Listen, it's not easy. … It's identifying matchups, it's making sure you get positive plays and in just about every case, a completion is a positive play, right?”

Throughout his career, Brees has been one of the league's most accurate quarterbacks. He even holds the NFL record with a career 67.1 completion rate. He has taken it up a notch in his 18th season and been the driving force of the Saints' offense by notching 1,078 passing yards with eight touchdowns and a 122.2 passer rating.

Much of this production has come from his pairing alongside Pro Bowl wide receiver Michael Thomas, who is off to a record-breaking pace with 38 catches on 40 targets for 398 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Meanwhile, star running back Alvin Kamara has hauled in 30 reception on 38 targets for 289 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Brees has the benefit of working with two highly talented pass catchers who have helped him get off to this hot start.

Brees already holds the all-time regular-season completion rate record at 72.0 percent, which he set last year, and 80 percent won't look as daunting if he continues to throw with this much efficiency as the year wears along.
