New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram will be missing the first four games of the season because of a PED suspension, and that means the team is trying to get him some extra work during the preseason.

During the first two preseason games last year Ingram didn't play a down but these year has been different. During the Saints first two preseason games this year, Ingram has had 14 carries on 23 offensive snaps and chances are that workload will increase during the last two games before his suspension starts.

Ingram has tried to prepare himself physically and mentally to be away from the team, but he isn't quite sure what to expect.

“I don't know what that's going to be like or how it's going to feel,” Ingram said Sunday via NFL.com. “I'm sure it's not going to feel good. It's my first time ever being away from my team in any form of fashion since I've been playing sports, but it is what is at this point. We're just working. I'm doing everything I can to prepare us to get off to a fast start.”

Last year, Alvin Kamara and Ingram were one of the best one-two punches at running back in the league, and the Saints are going to need to find a way to deal with not having him the first few weeks of the season.

There is no question that Kamara can be a team's number one running back by himself, but with how well the two worked with each other, the Saints are going to really miss him.
