New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas has become a unanimous First-Team All-Pro selection for his remarkable production in 2019, according to Barry Wilner of The Associated Press.
Thomas played in every game this season, leading the NFL in both receptions (149) and receiving yards (1,725) while scoring nine touchdowns. He earned a Pro Bowl nod in the process.
The 26-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Ohio State, was originally selected by the Saints in the second round (47th pick overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft.
There are certainly a whole lot of teams who wish they had that draft back.
The Saints receiver appeared in 15 contests during his rookie campaign and was terrific. He caught 92 passes for 1,137 yards and nine scores. Then, the following year, Thomas was even better, snaring 104 balls for 1,245 yards while reaching the end zone five times, resulting in his first Pro Bowl appearance.
He continued to improve in 2018, registering 125 grabs for 1,405 yards and nine touchdowns, making yet another Pro Bowl and earning First-Team All-Pro honors for the first time.
Even more impressive about Thomas' 2019 season is the fact that he logged nine games of double-digit catches, and he logged over 100 yards 10 times.
Of course, the Saints have a whole lot of unfinished business to take care of.
After going 12-4 during the regular season, New Orleans will host the Minnesota Vikings in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs on Sunday afternoon.
The Saints are looking to avenge a devastating playoff loss to the Vikings from two years ago. That game saw Vikings receiver Stefon Diggs score a last-second touchdown as time expired to knock off New Orleans and lead Minnesota to the NFC Championship Game.
