New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas is entering the final year of his current deal, but with the Saints have limited wiggle room under the salary cap, they don't seem in any rush to get a deal done.

And Thomas is fine with that.

In spite of the fact that New Orleans hasn't even begun contract negotiations with Thomas yet, the 26-year-old has still showed up for organized team activities:

“I'm a football player first — I like being at work. So it wasn't really hard to make a decision [to attend OTAs],” Thomas said, according to Mike Triplett of ESPN.com.

Thomas also feels that everything will work out in the end:

“I feel pretty certain that everything will get taken care of and handled professionally,” Thomas said. “This is how I approach the game and how I show up to work the same way, and everything else will take care of itself.”

The Los Angeles native is coming off of a spectacular 2018 campaign in which he hauled in a league-leading 125 receptions for 1,405 yards and nine touchdowns en route to a Pro Bowl appearance and a First-Team All-Pro selection.

Yet, Thomas is scheduled to make just $1.1 million in 2019, an incredible bargain for one of the best wideouts in the league.

Thomas, who played his collegiate football at Ohio State, was originally selected by the Saints in the second round (47th pick overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft.

He has registered over 1,000 yards in all three of his NFL seasons and has made back-to-back trips to the Pro Bowl.
