Michael Thomas is entering his fifth season with the New Orleans Saints and he's been able to build a phenomenal rapport with Drew Brees. As he prepares for another year with the Saints, Thomas revealed the level of trust that him and Brees have with each other.

Amid a conversation with Luke Johnson of Nola.com, Thomas highlighted what makes him and Brees a special connection:

“Drew and I have played a lot of football together now,” Thomas said, “so I think with just having that type of relationship, you go and do the work, whether somebody is watching or not, you’re still going to find ways to get better. You’re still going to find ways to make sure you’re doing what Drew’s expecting you to do, that’s all.”

Heading into the 2020 NFL season, Thomas and Brees have already had four years to build chemistry on the field. Altogether, in his first four seasons, Thomas has combined for 470 receptions, 5,512 yards, and 32 touchdowns.

Just this past season alone, the former second-round pick hauled in 149 catches for 1,725 yards and nine touchdowns. The 149 receptions were an NFL single-season record, snapping Marvin Harrison's record of 143 in 2002.

Since entering the NFL, Thomas has accumulated the most receptions in the first four seasons of a wide receiver's career in NFL history. There's no doubt that having a pinpoint accurate quarterback like Brees has aided him in achieving those asinine numbers.

Regardless of who is under center, Thomas has shown that he can succeed at the wide receiver position. But when Brees is throwing him the ball, the Ohio State product is nearly unstoppable, even though opposing defenses attempt to slow him down.
