New Orleans Saints defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins has all the confidence in the world in the surging Saints defense. The Saints have now won 10 straight games after dominating the Atlanta Falcons on Thanksgiving night.
According to NFL.com's Herbie Teope, Rankins stated:
“I always said we knew what type of defense we could be if we just approached each and every game the same way. We can be dangerous and I think we've shown that. The thing about this league is you've got to do it again and again and again. For us, we know we've been able to show it over these last couple of weeks consistently.”
The Saints' defense devoured the Falcons on Thanksgiving, collecting six sacks, three fumble recoveries, one interception, and seven defensed passes. The defense is looking like a nice complement to the outstanding offense. After allowing over 30 points a game in the first three games of the season, the Saints have allowed only 19.1 points per game since.

“We played some good offenses. Cincinnati's a good offense. The Eagles are a good offense. I feel like we're playing a complementary game relative to time of possession, third downs, all of those things and tonight was no different.”
Before handling the Falcons, the Saints made a mockery of the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles, 48-7. Seeing how New Orleans has performed defensively in recent weeks, it's hard to dispute Rankins' assertion.
