The New Orleans Saints finished the 2018-19 campaign as the runner-ups in the NFC behind only the Super Bowl-bound Los Angeles Rams.
With such a season coming to an end on quite the forgettable note due to a blown call by the officials toward the end of this year's NFC title game, the Saints will no doubt begin next season as the favorites in the NFC alongside the aforementioned Rams.
However, that does not mean that the already potent New Orleans offense won't get better come next year. According to Mike Triplett of ESPN, the Saints could be in the market for a well-known slot receiver this offseason while offering up a slew of potential candidates to make their way to the bayou.

But one way or another, the Saints need to add another reliable pass-catcher after their offense fizzled down the stretch. And the list of pending free agents at slot receiver — including Golden Tate, Randall Cobb, Adam Humphries, Jamison Crowder and Cole Beasley — is way more intriguing than the slim pickings at tight end.”
The surging Saints already have the tandem of quarterback Drew Brees and wide receiver Michael Thomas on board and adding another threat along the outside seems a bit unfair at this point. Not only that, but Alvin Kamara will also be back next season and the Saints could re-sign Mark Ingram.
