Prior to this development, Watson had reportedly narrowed down the list of teams he would allow a trade to to just three franchises. Those three franchises were the Falcons, Saints, and Panthers. Initially, the Cleveland Browns were also in on the Deshaun Watson sweepstakes. However, earlier today the Browns were notified they had been removed from consideration.
With the latest reports, the Panthers now find themselves in the same boat as the Browns. Unlike the Browns however, the Panthers do not have a proven starter currently on their roster. With QB options dwindling, the Panthers may now be forced to turn to the upcoming NFL draft to find their next signal-caller.
All attention now shifts to the Saints and the Falcons. Watson has met with representatives from each organization within the past week, and each team is positioning themselves to make a serious offer for the QB if Watson would approve a trade to their team.

The QB holds the keys to any potential move in his hands, with his no-trade clause giving him all the leverage in this situation. Watson will likely take his time to determine the best move for his career. Following his stint with the Houston Texans, Watson likely wants to move to a franchise that will put the weapons around him to maximize his talents. This is something the Texans failed to do several times early in his career.
It remains unclear when Watson will make his final decision, but a quick resolution seems beneficial for all parties involved. Stay tuned for further updates.
