The New York Jets have been practicing throughout the week with Le'Ven Bell on the sidelines due to knee and ankle injuries.
Despite remaining sidelined for the team's practices during the early portion of the week, head coach Adam Gase thinks Bell is ‘going to be all right.' There is optimism that the star running back will be able to play on Sunday.
Le’Veon Bell (knee/ankle) won’t practice. Will stay inside to rehab. No structural damage in MRI, per Gase. Soreness hit him Monday. Gase: “I think he’s going to be all right.” #Jets

So far this season, Bell has totaled 415 rushing yards and 1 rushing touchdown on 125 attempts, which translates to a career-low average of 3.3 yards per carry. It is worth noting that he has produced 242 receiving yards and 1 receiving touchdown on 40 receptions, but his average of 6.1 yards per reception is the second-lowest of his career.
The production that Bell has provided the Jets in 2019 has been underwhelming but it's tough to place all of the blame on him. The supporting cast that he has played with has been underwhelming but that was the choice that he made when he decided to pursue the four-year, $52.5 million contract with a max value of $61 million that he received from New York.
Bell was included in trade rumors ahead of the NFL trade deadline despite his less than stellar production this season. If he manages to close the season on a high note, it wouldn't be unreasonable to assume that teams will be interested in pursuing him again in the offseason.
The Jets face the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium in Week 10. Updates regarding Bell's status are expected to come as the week progresses.
