The Jets new running back apparently suffered the shoulder injury against the Buffalo Bills in Week 1. Even with the injury, Bell was able to rush for 60 yards on 17 carries. The dynamic running back also showed that he is still a threat in the passing game with six receptions for 32 yards and a touchdown.
Sometime during this week, Bell began to feel some pain in his shoulder while he was practicing. Adam Gase doesn't believe it is anything serious and his MRI confirmed that.
Article Continues BelowInjuries have been an underlying issue throughout Bell's career when he was with the Pittsburgh Steelers. To prove this, the dual-threat running back has only managed to play in all 16 games in a season just once in his seven-year career.
The last time that he did succeed in playing in every game in the regular season came in his second season in the NFL in 2014. Last year, Bell sat out of the entire season due to a contract dispute with the Steelers.
Fortunately, New York seems to be in a position to have Le'Veon Bell available against the Cleveland Browns on Monday Night Football. As for Sam Darnold, the second-year quarterback has already been ruled out for Monday night's game due to being struck with mononucleosis.
To make matters worse, Darnold is reportedly expected to miss multiple games because of his illness.
