The New York Jets have a reason to celebrate this week after ending their winless spell with a victory against the Tennessee Titans, but for safety Marcus Maye, that's probably the last thing on his mind right now.

According to a report by Rich Cimini of ESPN, Maye could potentially be charged with cases over a DUI arrest and a car crash involving the defensive back in February of 2021 in Fort Lauderdale.

Maye, 28, was charged with driving under the influence and two other misdemeanors: DUI/damage to property and person and leaving the scene of a crash, according to the booking report. He posted a bond of $1,500.

The arrest could also lead to Maye being suspended by the NFL. Reached for further comment on Maye's situation, the safety's agent, Erik Burkhardt, opted not to discuss the matter in depth.

“It is an ongoing legal matter and our attorney has advised us we cannot comment. We are confident it will be positively resolved. We look forward to Marcus getting back on the field soon.”

Maye has been in the NFL since 2017 and has not suited up for any team outside of the Jets, who picked him in that year's NFL Draft 39th overall. He's played three games this season, but was sidelined with an ankle injury in Week 4's win over the Titans.
