New York Jets quarterback, Sam Darnold, is having a rough 2019. His sophomore year simply is not going as well as many were hoping it would.

However, he gave a glimpse of hope in Week 10. Going up against the New York Giants, Darnold had a turnover-free performance. That's something to build off of.

In Week 10, Darnold had one touchdown pass and one touchdown run. He also had no interceptions or fumbles. It was his first week all season long without either of those.

According to Josh Alper of ProFootballTalk.com, Darold spoke out on his first turnover-free performance of the year.

“I think for me I was just really in control out there,” Darnold said in his postgame press conference. “I think I did a lot better job of just controlling myself, making sure that I wasn’t doing too much but I was also doing things that were in my control and staying with myself, I think, is the best way to say it. Not turning the ball over, not having a ton of negative plays, that’s really good for us.”

Darnold finished the game 19-for-30 with 230 yards and a passing touchdown. He also had three carries for 25 yards and a rushing touchdown. Those numbers are very solid already. They only get better with the fact that he did not have any turnovers for the first time all year.

Darnold has looked better each week since that miserable performance against the New England Patriots. However, he was still having serious turnover issues and it was becoming very problematic.

Darnold was not living up to the hype in 2019, and it was making an already lost New York season even worse. Now Darnold has given them a glimmer of hope.

The Jets beat the Giants by a final score of 34-27 and Darnold had his best game of the 2019 season. Could this be the start of a turnaround for them? At the very least it's something for both Darnold and the Jets to build on.
