The New York Jets might have finally found a cornerstone in rookie quarterback Zach Wilson and he has exuded total confidence heading into his first NFL season.
But reality might hit hard when the Jets take on the field, as Wilson could suffer rookie jitters against the more established signal-callers in the league. The 22-year-old, however, said he isn't new to taking over an erstwhile struggling squad.
Wilson cited his experience in leading the turnaround of Brigham Young, and that motivates him to do the same for the Jets (via New York Post).

Once you’re able to make something special out of it, you remember what it was like when you had all the lows and things weren’t going the way they should have been. You’re able to pull through and get better. There’s a lot of learning experiences in that. Then it’s a lot of fun when you’re able to turn it around.”
Doing it in college is one thing, replicating it in the NFL is another, especially with most of the teams shoring up their roster. Then, of course, there's the 10-year drought of the listless Jets in the NFL Playoffs, the longest in the league. But again, Wilson pointed to his standout stint at BYU.
“It’s fun to be a part of something that flips around. It’s the same story I had at BYU. We weren’t great when I got there. We were 4-9, and then we just kept fighting through adversity and getting better every year.”
Zach Wilson will make his Jets debut on Sunday when they take on the Carolina Panthers.
