In spite of a Tuesday morning report that said the New York Jets were making an attempt to move running back Le'Veon Bell ahead of Tuesday's 4 p.m. ET trade deadline, it doesn't look like that's going to happen.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Jets don't plan on trading Bell. Schefter notes that New York received calls, but were not enticed enough to make a deal.

Given that Bell just signed a four-year, $52.5 million deal with the Jets in March and is due $35 million in guaranteed money, it's not a surprise New York was not able to find an offer it liked.

Bell's first season with the Jets has been disastrous, to say the least.

Through seven games, the 27-year-old has rushed for just 349 yards and a touchdown while averaging a meager 3.2 yards per carry. He has added 32 catches, but only for 187 yards and a score.

Of course, Bell's lack of production is hardly all his fault, as New York's offensive line has been atrocious this season, and it played three games with a third-string quarterback in Luke Falk, but given that Bell was widely considered the best running back in the NFL a couple of years ago, he is still going to take some blame.

Bell spent the first six years of his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, but only played five of them, as he sat out all of 2018 due to a contract dispute with the club.

During the time he was actually on the field, Bell made three Pro Bowl appearances and earned a pair of First-Team All-Pro selections.
