While most of the talk surrounding next month's NFL Draft is about quarterbacks such as Kyler Murray, Dwayne Haskins and Drew Lock, linebacker Josh Allen is becoming a hot topic of discussion.
The University of Kentucky product has a full slate ahead of him. He is scheduled to meet with the San Francisco 49ers, New York Jets, Oakland Raiders, and Detroit Lions sometime soon, according to Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area.
Allen is also scheduled to meet with the New York Giants, which was reported earlier.
The 21-year-old is considered by most to be the top pass-rushing prospect in this year's NFL Draft class. He is coming off a fantastic senior campaign in which he racked up 88 tackles, 21.5 tackles for loss, 17 sacks, five forced fumbles, and a couple of fumble recoveries.
Article Continues BelowHe began earning significant playing time with the Wildcats during his sophomore season, when he finished with 62 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, seven sacks, and four forced fumbles.
Then, in his junior year, Allen totaled 66 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, seven sacks, an interception, and a pair of forced fumbles.
The latest rumor is that the Jets, who own the No. 3 pick in the draft, will be taking Allen, which exists in contrast to previous talk that New York was thinking about trading down.
With edge rushers being at a premium in today's game, Allen could certainly represent a great pickup for somebody and will almost surely go in the top 10 next month.
