The National Football League will review the late-game tomfoolery that happened when the Jacksonville Jaguars faced the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.
For those unaware, A LOT was happening in the closing moments of that game.
Seahawks defensive lineman Michael Bennett dived at the knees of Jaguars center Brandon Linder during victory formation. That's one thing.
Then there's defensive lineman Sheldon Richardson being ejected for throwing a punch. Another thing.
Article Continues BelowAlso, defensive lineman Quinton Jefferson being ejected. This last-ish thing might be the worst in terms of optics, as a fan hurled something at Jefferson when he was being escorted off the field, with the lineman attempting to make his way in the stands to go after the evil-doer.
First thing is first: Fans, stop hurling stuff at players. It is incredibly unsafe. Just because you bought a ticket to an NFL game, it doesn't mean you are allowed to be involved in acts that are literally criminal.
It will be interesting to see what the National Football League does with Jefferson. While the league certainly frowns on players going after fans, he was provoked in a way that it could be argued he was trying to defend himself (to a degree).
It's really hard to get hit in the face with random debris, then be expected to just take it.
