The Chicago Bears' season may be over at this point in the season. However, Allen Robinson is determined to not let the disappointing outcome deter him from improving his game.
This time, he's enlisted the rest of the Bears' receiving corps into doing a few offseason workouts in the offseason to better prepare them for the 2020 campaign.
According to Alyssa Barbieri of Bears Wire, the 26-year-old wide receiver let the team know that he's organizing workouts to help the team's wideouts perform better next year.
Article Continues BelowSpeaking with the media on Thursday, Bear offensive coordinator Mark Helfrich said that he overheard Robinson orchestrating offseason workouts where Bears receivers would go to live with him and train for next season.
This wouldn’t be the first time Robinson has taken to offseason preparation. He did the same last March when he flew to Huntington Beach, California, to work with Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, as well as fellow receivers Taylor Gabriel, Javon Wims and Marvin Hall to fine-tune and perfect passing routes.
In all honesty, there's no reason why the Penn State alum would organize such workouts. He's the best wide receiver in his team's offense, notching 1076 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in an otherwise disappointing year for Chicago football. He could have simply taken his paycheck and leave before the mandatory minicamps start.
However, it's clear to everyone that he wants to win. This initiative should help the team become a better passing offense. With rumors surrounding the team that they may use a high pick for a quarterback, it's plausible that this offseason training will help the Bears improve immensely next year.
