Prior to last Sunday's 33-31 loss to the Carolina Panthers, New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. made some strong criticisms of his team in an interview with ESPN, and Phil Simms thinks it was a great idea.
These comments ranged from questioning the offensive game plan to his long-term commitment to the franchise that has drawn much more additional attention to him and the team. According to Tom Rock of Newsday, former Giants quarterback Phil Simms has voiced that he believes this situation will help bring the team together and put their best foot forward starting on Thursday night against the Philadelphia Eagles.

It has been anything but a discouraging start to the season dropping four out of the first five games of the year. Much of this has centered on the team's struggles offensively ranking in the bottom half of the league being 23rd with 20.8 points per game along with 17th in passing.
New York had nearly pulled out an impressive win on the road over the Panthers, but a 63-yard field goal by Graham Gano prevented that. That said, these are comments from Beckham Jr. that will be dealt with internally in order to sort it out. At the same time, Beckham Jr. may not have gotten with the proper way but his intentions were clear to help drive the team forward.
Ultimately, this is something that will have to be proven on the field if it has kicked the team into high gear beginning in Week 6 against the Eagles. The Giants will either prove Phil Simms wrong or right in the coming weeks.
