On Wednesday, the NFL world is anxiously awaiting the release of the upcoming NFL schedule, which is set to be announced that evening, although several games have already been leaked, including the season-opening Thursday Night Football game which will feature the Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens doing battle in Arrowhead Stadium. While several other games have been leaked for other teams, it appears that the NFL has let a disproportionate amount of Chiefs games slip through the cracks so far, as on Wednesday evening, yet another Kansas City tilt was leaked, this one for the day after Thanksgiving.

The NFL will once again have a Black Friday game on Amazon Prime Video: It will be the #Raiders traveling to Kansas City for a matchup vs. the #Chiefs,” reported NFL insider Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team on X, the social media platform formerly referred to as Twitter.

As Meirov referenced in his tweet, it's the second straight year that the NFL will reportedly be experimenting with a Black Friday tilt, coinciding with the college football games that usually take place on that day as well as some other leagues.

Some users noted that the Chiefs are apparently racking up games on all days of the week this year.

“If the rumors are true about the Chiefs playing on Black Friday, they've hit PEAK daily bingo They'll play on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday,” noted NFL insider Verderame of Sports Illustrated on X.

Another title defense

The Chiefs of course are coming off of their second straight Super Bowl victory, this time knocking off Brock Purdy and the San Francisco 49ers during Super Bowl 58 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Chiefs (as they did in their 2020 Super Bowl victory over San Francisco) found themselves down by double digits in this one, but ultimately, superstar quarterback and former league MVP Patrick Mahomes broke through and delivered down the stretch, including throwing the game winning pass to former Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver Mecole Hardman to walk the game off in overtime.

When the schedule is released on Wednesday night, it certainly wouldn't be much of a surprise to see the Chiefs have a plethora of prime time games once again, as Mahomes remains the face of the sport (by a long shot) and the Chiefs still figure to have the drawing power that pop star Taylor Swift brings when she attends to see boyfriend Travis Kelce hurl in footballs from Mahomes.

Mahomes proved his dedication to winning earlier this offseason by restructuring his contract to give the Chiefs more flexibility in free agency. The fact that the Chiefs were able to break through to Super Bowl glory despite how inept they looked for large portions of the 2024 season certainly shouldn't make the rest of the NFL feel very good about their chances of competing.

In any case, the NFL schedule is set to be officially released in its entirety on Wednesday evening and will be broadcast at 8:00 PM on the NFL Network.
