Just a few weeks ago Adrian Peterson wasn't even on an NFL roster but when the Washington Redskins offense takes the field on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals he will be the starting running back. When he signed on with the Redskins there were questions if he would even make the roster but it's clear now the team has really liked what they have seen.

Peterson admits that people doubting if he was still an NFL running back has motived him and has kept him pressing forward.
Article Continues Below“I feel like anyone who’s doing anything, you always have some doubters who give up on you, and it motivates you to keep pressing forward. So that’s been part of my motivation,” Gruden said via Pro Football Talk.
Jay Gruden was asked how many touches he would like to get Peterson on Sunday and jokingly Gruden said about 40 of them.
When rookie Derrius Guice tore his ACL the Redskisn turned to Peterson, signing him to a veteran's minimum one year contract. The Redskins are Peterson's third team since he left the Vikings before the beginning of last season.
Last year with the New Orleans Saints there were too many good running backs and Peterson had a hard time getting carries. He then joined the Cardinals and actually did a decent job filling in after David Johnson got hurt. The Redskins hope that his legs still have a bit of magic left in them and he can be a big part of their offense this year.
