This isn't the most encouraging news for Peterson, but he appears to be working his way toward getting ready to play against the Saints. He will have an extra day to get physically ready with the game being on Monday night that should allow him to get a little more rest for his ankle.

Peterson has been a huge spark plug in his the first three games with the team as he has led the running game as he has tallied 236 rushing yards on 56 attempts with three touchdowns along with five catches for 100 receiving yards. This includes coming off a season-high 120 rushing yards with a pair of touchdowns in the 31-17 win over the Green Bay Packers in Week 3.

These next few days will be indicative of where Peterson is at physically. He did state on Monday that he's confident that he will be ready for next Monday's game.
