It seems like interim Washington Redskins head coach Bill Callahan is attempting to change the culture of the franchise. He is a guy that took an Oakland Raiders team to the Super Bowl in the early 2000's, so his voice does command some respect, but for a team that has started off 0-5 it will be difficult to turn things around.

Callahan is not only making players take more accountability, but is also taking a different approach with quarterback Dwayne Haskins. While he has already decided on going back to Case Keenum as the teams starting quarterback, Callahan is doing something Jay Gruden didn't.

He is giving the rookie first team reps in practice, realizing that Haskins will need to be coached up and learn the NFL game before he is blindly thrown out into an actual game before getting any reps with the first team.

The Redskins will have to shift their philosophy as it was clearly not working. The Callahan switch gives the team a fresh start as they will try and redefine their identity this week in Miami. Washington fans can only ask for Callahan to steady a ship that has been sinking all season long.

Fans should hope to get some kind of clarity out of this season. Knowing they will not make the playoffs, this season gives Redskins players a chance to grow and learn so they can come into next season ready and with a newfound mindset.
