The Washington Redskins have had a tough couple of games offensively and there have been rumors about rookie quarterback Dwayne Haskins taking over under center to replace Case Keenum. While it didn't happen to start this week's game against the New York Giants, Jay Gruden has finally made the move.
According to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter, Haskins has taken over at quarterback in the second quarter of their Week 4 matchup with the Giants.

This could be the beginning of a new era of football for Washington. There is still a chance that Gruden decides to go back to Keenum or the returning Colt McCoy, but Haskins would be the right move for the franchise.
Article Continues BelowHaskins was drafted in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft and many believe that he could end up being the best NFL quarterback out of the class. He saw Kyler Murray and Daniel Jones go ahead of him, but that hasn't stopped the speculation about just how good he can become.
Interestingly enough, Haskins is making his NFL debut against Jones. New York was criticized heavily for taking Jones over Haskins. Now, we will get to see the two rookies go head to head in Week 4.
Expect to hear a lot more about the quarterback controversy in Washington this coming week. For now, however, Haskins is under center for the Redskins and will be looking to earn the job long-term with a strong performance.
