Washington Redskins running back Adrian Peterson passed Hall-of-Fame running back Eric Dickerson for eighth on the NFL's all-time rushing list on Saturday, according to NFL Research.
Peterson has experienced a career revitalization of sorts this season. He came into Saturday's action having rushed for 923 yards and seven touchdowns on the year, his highest totals since 2015.
Injuries have derailed Peterson over the last couple of years.
In 2016 and 2017, Peterson played just 13 games combined between the Minnesota Vikings, New Orleans Saints, and the Arizona Cardinals.
It looked like his career may have been over after a dreadful 2017 campaign, but he seems to have righted the ship this year with the Redskins.
Peterson, who played his collegiate football at the University of Oklahoma, was originally selected by the Vikings with the seventh overall pick of the 2007 NFL Draft.

He burst on to the scene during his rookie campaign, racking up 1,341 yards and 12 touchdowns en route to a Pro Bowl appearance. The following year, Peterson totaled a league-leading 1,760 yards to go along with 10 scores, resulting in another trip to Honolulu and a First-Team All-Pro selection.
Peterson went on to make seven Pro Bowls and four All-Pro teams during his time in Minnesota from 2007 through 2016, including the 2012 campaign in which he rattled off 2,097 yards while reaching the end zone 12 times on the ground.
The 33-year-old owns three rushing titles and has led the league in touchdowns once.
Washington came into the weekend with a record of 7-7 and very slim playoff hopes. Since starting the season 6-3, the Redskins have gone just 1-4.
